The Citizen Lab has an opening in the 2013 summer term for a software developer / research assistant. As the successful candidate, you will work with the Citizen Lab team to develop tools for Internet censorship monitoring. The system will be implemented in Java and will include a significant network measurement component.
SKILLS
*Strong programming skills (ideally proficient in Java, Python)
*Strong debugging/bug-tracking/code review experience
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This position would be ideal for an undergraduate computer science or engineering student in 2nd year or above (preferably having taken at least one networking course). Interest in Internet censorship, networking, and systems is also an asset.
