Wow, over 2,000 Likes! Thanks for all your support!
I'll be announcing something really exciting shortly...stay tuned!
It's official, we pulled it off and qualified in both the 2man and 4man events, with world ranks of 11th and 9th respectively. The qualification period is over now but we have one more World Cup in Koenigssee Germany before heading off to Sochi.
Merry Christmas everyone! I've been back home in Calgary for some rest and training since the last World Cup races in lake placid last week. Where we came 8th in both 2man races and 9th in 4man continuing our streak of our highest finishes on each track!
After a long preseason the World Cup is finally underway. My computer is in its death throes so I missed posting about the first stop in Calgary. We've just finished racing in Park City and have ar

I've just arrived back in Calgary after a few weeks on the road sliding in Whistler and Park City where we had our Canadian Championships as well as some pre-season training. It was an awesome trip with sunny weather and fast ice. I ended up 2nd in Canadian Champs in 2man racing with Bryan Barnett on the brakes and Rush
Bobsleigh season is upon us! We start sliding down the track tomorrow and I'm really excited about it. This season will be the biggest challenge of my sliding career. I decided after competing as a brakeman in the 2010 Olympics that I wanted to be in control and become a bobsleigh pilot. I set the lofty goal of qualifying for the Sochi 2014 Olympics as a pilot, with
Sunday morning I headed down to Eau Claire in Calgary to help out at the Terry Fox run. Myself and some other athletes were introduced on stage and we helped lead the warm up before the run, it was really fun!
We've just finished up in St. Moritz for World Championships. We had an awesome result in the 2man, where I teamed up with Neville Wright and finished up 12th. We had a great time in our first race together, pushing well and having my best drives of the week.
We ended off our 1st half of the season with a couple of great finishes for Team Kripps, 10th in Winterberg in the 4man and 14th in the 2man, and 14th in the 4man in La Plagne, a track I'd never been on until that race week! This is very good for us as we're in a bit of a battle to be one of the nations that gets 3 sleds at World Champs this year.
The North American part of the World Cup circuit is finished, ending with a great race in Whistler, BC. Huge congrats to Chris Spring and his team of Tim Randall, Adam Rosenke and Ben Coakwell placing third in the 4man and earning their first World Cup medal, awesome job!
his passed weekend we had the pleasure of meeting some fellow Canadians in our hotel. The Barrie Colts bantam Ae hockey team was down here for the Can/Am tournament. They happened to be playing in the gold medal game on our day off and the
We just got back to Calgary after a solid week of training in Whistler BC where we were able to get some higher speeds on the ice to help us prepare for the race season. The weather was unbelievable out there and it felt like a summer vacation for the first few days. Once we hit the ice it was time to focus... first 4man runs of the year with a new crew and hitting speeds of 145km/h.
Want to try that? Buy a Team Kripps shirt from
The Store before I get on the ice in Whistler (Oct. 1st) and be entered to win a free bobsleigh ride in Whistler. Trust me, you want to do this.
e just finished up an awesome week of training and meetings with the Bobsleigh team and staff in Calgary. This was an early training season testing camp so Quin decided to make it a fun time and have us compete in a decathlon of events, some o
I just got word that Pierre Lueders has been named head coach of the Russian National Bobsleigh Team. Smart move by the Russians. Smart move by Pierre as well.
Its been a week since Pierre announced his retirement from coaching the Canadian Bobsleigh Team. I've waited for a week hoping he'd change his mind, but its not looking good.
Pierre was an awesome teammate and became a great coach and mentor for me when I jumped into the drivers seat after the 2010 Olympics. Trust me, driving those things at 150km/h can be scary at first, you're gonna want someone like Pierre telling you how to do it. Its going to be a different world out there without Pierre. Sure if you're involved in bobsleigh Pierre has probably ripped a strip off you, maybe even thrown a runner or a camera in your direction but thats just part of the passion. It gets the people going. I'm going to miss that.
