Citizen Lab Research Fellow Lex Gill will be speaking at the University of Waterloo on October 27 as part of their CrySP Speaker Series on Privacy. Delivering a talk entitled Rearranging Power Through Law and Code: Deciphering the Canadian Encryption Debate, she will investigate current encryption laws, their implications for global security and human rights, and the ethical questions technologists face when addressing these issues.
The talk will be based on joint research by the Citizen Lab and the Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic.
