The Citizen Lab’s director Ron Deibert is presenting a paper, co-authored with senior legal researcher Siena Anstis, at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University’s event Regardless of Frontiers: First Amendment & Exchange of Ideas Across Borders. Deibert is slated to speak on October 18, 2024, as part of Panel 3: Surveillance at and Across Borders, where he will discuss the growing phenomenon of digital transnational repression, and how host states – such as the United States – have and should be responding to its practice.
