Citizen Lab Research Fellow Bill Marczak will be speaking at the upcoming event Crisis Code: Humanitarian Protection in the Digital Age. Hosted by swissnex San Francisco and the Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco, the two-day event will focus on the cross-section of humanitarian relief and technological advances, fostering discussions around how digital tools can be leveraged to help vulnerable communities.
Marczak will be speaking on September 27th at a workshop titled A Shifting Cyber-Threat Landscape: Cyber-Aggression and Cyber-Attack on Civilian Populations which will look at the digital vulnerabilities facing communities in crisis. Joining Marczak will be Kate Starbird (University of Washington), Sarah Yee (Digital Forensics Research Lab), and Han Soal Park (UN Security Council). The panel will be moderated by Joseph Guay and Lisa Rudnick (The Policy Lab).
