We are pleased to announce that Sarah McKune has joined the Citizen Lab as Senior Researcher. Sarah will be working on the Lab’s comparative analysis of targeted malware attacks on human rights organizations, as well as research and analysis of international cyber security initiatives and related issues. She is a lawyer with a background in international human rights law.

Prior to joining the Citizen Lab, she was Law Officer and Special Assistant to the Executive Director at the nongovernmental organization Human Rights in China, where she focused much of her efforts on the counter-terrorism policies and human rights impact of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Her previous experience also includes work as a litigation associate at the New York office of Morrison & Foerster LLP, and teaching English in China.

Sarah obtained her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2002, and her B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University in 1999.
