Citizen Lab Director Ron Deibert was interviewed on the popular TVO Search Engine podcast with host Jesse Brown.
Professor Deibert spoke about the latest cyber attacks including the details of Flame, Stuxnet, Plan X and Simurgh. He also discussed cyber warfare and the role of cyber criminals as the “underbelly of the cyberworld”.
“I don’t think we’ll ever see a cyber war that is just cyber. However, we won’t see any armed conflict ever again that doesn’t have a cyber component to it. Even in the most impoverished part of the world, there are mobile phones, there are networks, there are satellites that take pictures from above and imagery that is sent around the world,” Professor Deibert said.
