On October 15, 2012, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM, at The Vivian and David Campbell Conference Facility, 1 Devonshire Place, PEN Canada and Citizen Lab are hosting a panel of experts to examine freedom of expression and censorship in the online world. How are writers, journalists, and bloggers navigating online spaces? How are governments responding to these changes? Where does Canada sit among its peers in maintaining a free market for ideas and opinion?

The event’s panelists are Alejandro Pisanty, Chairman of the Board of CUDI (Corporación Universitaria para el Desarrollo de Internet); Luis Horacio Nájera, Saul Rae Fellow at Massey College and Research Fellow at the Citizen Lab and the Canada Centre for Global Security Studies; Ron Deibert, Director of the Canada Centre for Global Security Studies and the Citizen Lab; and Russell Smith, writer and columnist for the Globe and Mail.
