Citizen Lab Senior Security Researcher and Technical Advisor Morgan Marquis-Boire joined First Look Media as Director of Security.
In the new role, Marquis-Boire will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing and mitigating potential threats to the security and privacy of First Look’s newsrooms and digital magazines.
In a 5 June press release, the First Look team acknowledged Marquis-Boire’s leading work in Internet surveillance and censorship over the past several years.
“Marquis-Boire comes to First Look from Google, where he spent the last six years developing tools and infrastructure to manage major information security initiatives. As a founding member of the Google Incident Response Team, he was responsible for the company’s highest level of security escalation, specializing in digital forensics, digital investigations, and malware analysis.”

Marquis-Boire will continue collaborating with the Citizen Lab on various research projects.
