In addition, Marquis-Boire was featured on Al-Jazeera’s Listening Post segment “Media Trends to Watch in 2015,” where he gave an interview regarding the increasing need for journalists need to incorporate digital security practices to their work, such as using encryption methods.

Marquis-Boire explained that journalists have recently come to be aware of the need for these privacy and security measures. Despite this, he argued that more needed to be done. “Individual journalists that I know, particularly those that report on national security and technology, have been quite impressive in adopting operational security measures and secure communications tools, but media organizations as conglomerates  are not moving as quickly, ” he said.
